Come Run With Us

San Angelo Road Lizards –

We have had fun – 5 great races thus far and it seems everyone is enjoying it.  Great!  I encourage you to stick around after the races, meet new running buddies and get the word out on when you run.  Group runs always make the miles go by quickly and easily.  For instance, I am part of what we call ourselves the “SARLTRKC.”   We Run, Trail Run, Kayak and pretty much like to tackle challenges – we meet at 6:30 on Tue nights for night (now day) runs, on Fri at 5:30 for a weekly cool down run, and usually for an IHOP run (IHOP run to the race, race, back to IHOP run) on Sat mornings.  Everyone is always invited – gives us a shout out on Facebook or email and we can get you details.  Others (many visiting San Angelo) write us all the time asking for group runs – it would be great to give them options.

I am encouraged by all the support and compliments.  We are working hard to do things right, but a few things do slip through the cracks at times…note the slight change on Trail Series Awards.  I apologize, but I hope you all know we are working hard to bring you the races.  By my last count, at least 27 different volunteers helped to put on the Trail Series.  Directing the races is not too hard, they just take a little time to put together…and with the great supporting cast, it is a cinch.  We are also working with at least 9 other organizations in teaching them how to direct a race – so check out the other races under the “Other Races” tab on the website to do more races as well as support various local charities and schools.

As always, catch you on the trails!

Sports Survey

Andrew Jagim, Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Science at Gannon University is conducting a survey on any individuals who have competed in obstacle race events (i.e. Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, Warrior Dash etc.).  The study is looking at background information including training habits and injury rates. Would you mind completing a brief online survey (5-10 minutes) if you fit the category? Thanks Road Lizards, your assistance would be much appreciated.
