| 2008 Trail Run Series The 2008 Trail Running Series wrapped up on February 23rd with the 15K final event. Military athletes from Goodfellow AFB claimed the top awards, with Kevin Clegg winning the overall Male category and Adrienne Jordan taking top Female honors. Full series results are attached, and award winners who missed the final race should contact event director Bill Cullins regarding how to pick up your award. Race day for the final event was picture perfect with 55 degree temps at start time. Runners completed a challenging course that showcased the rugged desert beauty of West Texas. The course started out along dirt roads paralleling Lake Nawsworthy, transitioned into rugged trails that traversed around and over Spillway Hill, and went through two "rock garden" sections that tested the athlete's' ability to dance over boulders. Local racers for this final event were joined by a group of Metroplex runners representing RAW (Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers). Kelley "K2" Richards, RAW member and regional Road Runners Club of America representative, summed up the trail running event with this statement " it was one of those races where I was actually sad that it was over so quickly". Awards were also handed out to the winners in the 2007 Best Athlete Competition (BAC). Recipients included Shane Plymell and Boyd Guthrie (tie) as Overall BAC male winners, September Summers, Overall BAC female, Christina Templin, Masters BAC Female, Anthony Wilson, Masters BAC male, and Pat Barton, Grand Masters BAC male. Congratulations to all of these individuals who came out on top after the grueling 12 month, 18 event BAC series. Please look at the Final Trail Run Standings for individual results.
