The sign says "Equestrian Camping Area". This is NOT the "North Entrance", which is about 0.1 miles Northeast of this gate.

COVID Precautions

A facemask is required at packet pickup and when interacting with volunteers. A facemask is required at the starting line, if you are not able to distance yourself from other runners.

The number of runners for each distance is small enough that we will have a regular start. If you are not able to distance yourself from other runners at the start, then a facemask is required. Please do not crowd the start line. Trash cans will be placed shortly after the starting line so that you may dispose of your mask.

Aid stations will be attended by volunteers several feet away from the table, refilling as needed when no runners are present. Aid station items will be placed so that you will be able to pick up what you need without touching anything else. All aid station items are required to be individually packaged. See more information about aid stations below.

We will have camping the night before as usual, but no meal will be provided and no organized activities will be done. If you choose to camp, please stay with your group.

If you are not feeling well, DO NOT RUN. Deferrals to next year will be provided.

Awards and Medals

There are no buckles this year, since there is no 100K. Look forward to that in 2022!

Everyone completing a race will receive a finisher medal.

Winner awards will go to the Top 3 Overall Male/Female for each distance AND Top 2 Masters (50+) Male/Female for each distance. There are no age group awards for this race.

Timing

This race is chip timed with a mass start for each distance. All awards and official times are based on gun time.

Camping

Camping will be available the night before at the starting line area (just come to the starting line on Friday and you'll see it). No meals or organized activities will be provided by the race organizers, due to COVID precautions. This is primitive camping: no RV hookups, etc. are provided and the only very close restrooms are portable toilets. There are other camping sites available nearby the starting line: visit https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/san-angelo for more information. For reference, our camping will take place at the "North Concho Group Camp Site".

Aid Stations

Aid stations are placed throughout the course, approximately every four miles. Due to COVID restrictions, all food at aid stations is required to be individually packaged. This means we won't be able to have "real" food and we won't be able to have coolers with water, but we will have everything we kind find that is wrapped in a package. This will include:
  • Lots of Gu gels (Gu is a sponsor!)
  • Mini Clif Bars
  • Mini bottles of Gatorade
  • Water bottles
  • Salt tablets
  • Little Debbie type snacks
  • Chips
  • Goldfish
  • Candy
  • Bananas
  • Nectarines
  • "Uncrustables" Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
  • ...anything else we can find!
